16week check up

Today was our 16 week check up and gender sonogram! Baby Burk looked healthy. We could see the spine, all four chambers of the heart, ventricles in the brain, bladder, stomach, feet, hands, and part of the face. Baby Burk's heart rate hovered around 155bpm. However, this baby did NOT want to show its "goodies". We never got a good shot, so we are still not 100% sure of baby Burk's gender. But we are leaning towards a girl. Baby Burk moved its leg to one side at one point, and we are thinking that if it was a boy, then we would have seen a "boy part" move and we didn't. None the less, I am only 16 weeks, so Dr. Webb (aka Dr. Wonderful) said we could go to a Baby's Kickin in two weeks and see if "she" would cooperate better. So, no shopping sprees yet! We will have to wait until August 13 to see if it is really a girl or boy!

Splash Pad

This was probably the best $50 investment I have ever made! We have a neighborhood pool and Gigi and Grandaddy have a pool, but sometimes it is a hassel to load up and drive to go swimming. So we just improvised! Anne Cambria loves this splash pad. She helps "water" the pad and it even came with an inflatable slide. Or "siiiiide" as Anne Cambria calls it. Set up is easy and it keeps her entertained for about an hour. ;)

Aquarium in New Orleans

We took Anne Cambria on a weekend trip to New Orleans July 21-23. We visited Hardie and Lacy and met their new baby girl Emma Shaw on Saturday. She is precious! After visiting with the Edgecombe's we headed to Magazine Street and ate dinner at the Rum House followed by "toppings" at the frozen yogurt shop next door. On Sunday we went to the Aquarium and Anne Cambria had a blast! She loved looking at the frogs and fish, but her favorite exhibit was the Penguin exhibit.  After the Aquarium we went back to the hotel for a nap and then we strolled through the Quarter and Jackson Square. We had a yummy dinner at the Gumbo Shop! We can't wait for many more trips to New Orleans!

July 4th

We had a relaxing 4th of July. We took Anne Cambria swimming at Gigi and Grandaddy's. Then we ate yummy hamburgers and watermelon! We were headed to shoot fireworks with Granny and Big Daddy, but Anne Cambria didn't make it. It was too late and she zonked out! Happy 4th of July!
