A Winter One-derland!

We had Mary Kate's 1st birthday party on January 11, 2014. We had to have it a week late because Mary McGuire's Cakes was closed until January 8 due to the holidays. Mary Kate's birthday theme was a "Winter ONE-derland". :) I thought it turned out really cute. She had fun playing with her little friends and Anne Cambria and the "big" kids enjoyed the inflatable outside. The weather was sunny and not too chilly so it was a perfect day! Mary Kate LOVED her smash cake and had a blast smashing it. We are so thankful for our healthy, happy ONE year old!! :)

Mary Kate's 12month Check Up!

Mary Kate went for her 12 month check up on January 7, 2014 and did great. She weighed 22lbs 4oz (80th %tile) and was 30 1/2in long (75th %tile). Dr. Ivancic wanted to watch her newest trick, walking! But when I put her down to walk, she just stood there and stared at Dr. Ivancic like he was crazy. Ha! Anyways, she got all of her vaccinations and her flu shot booster. Thankfully she did really well with all of them. We are so thankful to have another happy, healthy baby girl! :)

Mary Kate's First Birthday-January 3, 2014

Sweet Mary Kate had a wonderful first birthday! She started her day with chocolate chip pancakes and we all sang "Happy Birthday" to her. Anne Cambria was very excited about sister's birthday. For her birthday, we got Mary Kate an "anywhere chair". She loves it! She looked at me like "finally, I've been waiting for mine". Ha! That night we went to dinner at Newk's with all of the grandparents and then headed back to our house for Mary Kate to eat her smash cake. I had Mary McGuire make one before she closed for the holidays and froze it. I was nervous that it wouldn't be edible or attractive when we unthawed it, but it was perfect! Mary Kate LOVED eating it and throwing it too! :) She got some precious gifts from the grandparents; a soft Little Giraffe robe from Granny and Big Daddy and a book and precious pearl bracelet from Gigi and Granddaddy. We are so thankful she had a happy, happy birthday!

Mary Kate is 12months old-January 3, 2014

Wow! How has a year gone by already? My sweet baby girl is 1 year old. It has been such a wonderful year with our sweet Mary Kate and she has brought so much joy and laughter to our lives! We love you Mary Kate!

So what all is our 1 year old up to these days? Well, we are officially walking. Mary Kate took her first step on December 20, 2013. She is walking everywhere now! It is so precious to watch. Anne Cambria loves to clap for her and give her lots of "encouragement". Mary Kate finally has a few more teeth. Her top two teeth finally cut through. So we have a grand total of 4 teeth ha! Mary Kate is off formula now and she only gets a bottle at bedtime. I know she could easily go without it, but I enjoy our time rocking so I think I will keep offering it to her a few more nights. ;) Mary Kate has really started to enjoy books, so I am glad Santa brought her her very own bookshelf and books. She still loves Baby Einstein and will walk all over the house chasing after balls. I have a few apps on my iPhone that she likes to watch, but for the most part she just chews it. ;)

Mary Kate is still taking two naps a day, however, the morning nap is more of a "cat nap". She is sleeping until 8:30am so she naps from around 10:45-11:30ish and then again from 2:30pm-4:30pm. Mary Kate is still easy to feed; she'll eat pretty much anything. I would say her absolute favorite two foods right now are mandarin oranges and cheese.
